MICOHEST Admission Requirements
here are the requirements for each program:
1. For Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW), candidates need three (3) O level credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, and passes in two (2) other subjects, achieved in not more than two sittings.
2. For Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW), Diploma in Medical X-ray and Imaging Technology, Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, Professional Diploma in Health Information Management, and National Diploma in Public Health, candidates must have at least five (5) O level credits.
These must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and must be obtained at not more than two (2) sittings.
3. Diploma in Medical X-ray and Imaging Technology: This program focuses on training individuals to operate medical imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, and MRI machines. Students learn how to produce high-quality images to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.
4. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT): This program prepares students to work in medical laboratories where they perform tests to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Students learn about various laboratory techniques, equipment operation, and how to analyze different types of samples such as blood, urine, and tissue.
5. Professional Diploma in Health Information Management (HIM): This program teaches students how to manage and analyze healthcare data to improve patient care, control costs, and ensure compliance with regulations. Students learn about medical coding, electronic health records (EHRs), healthcare information systems, and data privacy laws.
